5 facts about Europe (a bonus update from Raff)

I thought you might like to hear some things I thought you might like to know about Europe

1. You have to pay to go to a public toilet

2. There are self-cleaning toilet - when you press the flush button it flushes then the whole toilet seat spins around and gets cleaned

3. German breakfasts are different to ours - they have meat, cheese and hard boiled eggs for breakfast, but I still had yoghurt

4. When you have kinderpunsch at the market you can keep the cups that they come in - some are like boots. Each stalls kinderpunsch tastes different, some are sour, some are sweet.

5. Europe money is different - it is called the Euro

6. Lots of people smoke in Europe

7. There are lots of bridges in Europe, one we walked in even had statues of saints

8. You tell the difference between good and bad croissants by whether they have lots of air holes (good) or not (bad). We the a croissant from the second best croissant maker in Europe. It had lots of air holes.

Hope this helps you.

What Raff did on Thursday

OOn Thursday we went to the Paris army war and history museum called Invalides.

When we got there we were given Napoleon hats that we wore at the museum.

First we walked up to the army stuff first. We learnt that guns were really hard to load in those days and you had to clean them.

Also we saw a video thing that was about a war between Napoleon and someone else. Napoleon won, we liked that. Remus and I were happy because we were learning things.

You got to chose whether you listened in English or French, we chose English.

We also saw Napoleon's tomb. A tomb is someone's grave.

The place we went for dinner was a very good place to go. It was a crepe place. Crepes are like pancakes but thinner and folded up. I had a chicken crepe that tasted a bit like our Nannie's chicken soup with marinated chicken and tomato

We also has a crepe with Nutella. We also had a salted caramel and ice cream one but I didn't have much of that.

Cars and kinderpunch

So, Sunday.

First we had breakfast at our hotel.  It was a German breakfast. I had meat, tomato, cucumber and a roll. I then had a little pastry case that you put Nutella in. I am finding lots of Nutella in Europe.

Then we hopped into a train to go to the Mercedes museum but the train didn't stop at the museum so we had to get s taxi. When we were in the taxi we saw a car that had a funny wrapping cover on it that was black and white. Remus told me it was a "test mule", a car that is being tested but it is wrapped so that other car companies can't find out any details.

We then got to the museum and got our audio tour, mine was the kids one.

I loved seeing the Mercedes racing car. Karl Benz made the first ever car and the first ever car company called Mercedes Benz. We were at the museum for 5 hours.

Last night we went back to the markets again - more kinderpunch and I also had more chocolate fruit on a stick.

Stuttgart has been great but now we are off to Whurzberg.

A crazy Saturday

This blog is all about what we did on Saturday

We started the day with breakfast in a German cafe, I had a chocolate croissant.

We then went looking in a sports shop, we saw lots of great soccer stuff.

Dad, Remus and me then went to the park. We were going to kick the footy but we found a giant plastic chess set so we played chess. Dad helped me and I won the game.

After that we went and met Kate and her friends at the Christmas markets. They had really yummy food. First I had some kinderpunch which is hot apple juice, it was a bit hot but I drank it, it was yummy.

Then I had a Nutella crepe.

At the market there are hundreds of stalls selling things like Christmas decorations and food. The stalls are all decorated.  We looked around at them all and then we had more to eat. I had another kinderpunch and some frites, which are chips.

On Saturday night we went to a beer hall for dinner. Dad had a huge piece of pork.

It was a great day

A German Adventure

I am writing this from Stuttgart in Germany.

We flew on Qantas from and we left at 11pm at night. I would rate the plan trip 9/10. I had m&m's on the way.

We then stopped in Dubai airport before we got an Emirates plane to Frankfurt.

On both planes we had movie screens. I watched Inside Out, Minions and Cars 2. I also watched the Gruffalo.

When we got to Frankfurt it was really cold. We went and played in a park and then we walked through the Christmas market.

You guys will love this Remus had strawberries coated with chocolate and I had banana coated with chocolate. It was scrumptious.

Then we went to dinner. I was really tired and fell asleep at dinner.

This morning after a big sleep we watched some German TV.  Then we went to the train station and for breakfast I had a croissant with chocolate in the middle. Remus had a pretzel.

Mum bought a book of The Gruffalo in German - Der Gruffalo.

In Stuttgart we went out for lunch then we went to the Porsche museum. There was a video game where we got to pretend we were driving a Porsche race car.

Now will go to the Christmas market tonight.

The adventure begins

This is Rafferty's blog about his adventures in Europe

We arrived in Melbourne, I was a bit nervous.

We are eating some delicious food at the Melbourne airport in the lounge with my friend Kate.

Hopefully my school friends are having a good time, but they will probably be asleep because it is 10.24pm and our plane is not left yet - it will leave in an hour.

I am very nervous but I feel great.  I am nervous about missing my flight. But I will have a good time.   The check in lady told me we will have movie screens.
